If you do not have a Skokie Public Library card or another card with current borrowing privileges, please call the Contact Number listed below and a member of our staff will be happy to sign you up.

Registration for Library programs requires a current library card from Skokie Public Library or a registered card from your "home" library. After you enter your card number and your last name to "log in" to the online calendar, your full name, phone number, and email address will automatically appear in the sign-up form as it currently appears in your Library account. You will be able to verify the information without having to type it every time you sign up for a program. This will improve accuracy and speed the registration process. If you call to register for a program, please have your Library card number ready for a staff member to enter for you.

Description:
 Continuing VOX 3 Collective's musical survey of world cultures, hear a diverse program of vocal works from Greece. Lush and dramatic works in the classical tradition set poetic and mythological texts from ancient Greece. Learn about Spyridon Samaras, an opera composer who, in some ways, was the Greek answer to Giacomo Puccini. Listen to works by famed conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos and the prolific and popular Mikis Theodorakis. The program is rounded out by entertaining pieces in the folk idiom set in a variety of ways. Sopranos Laura Pinto and Ashlee Hardgrave, mezzosoprano Catherine Huggins, tenor Nicholas Pulikowsky, and pianist Myron Siberstein perform.
