Chicago’s own bestselling children’s author, Blue Balliett, author of such favorites as Chasing Vermeer and The Wright 3, will be visiting the Library to celebrate the publication of her latest book, Hold Fast. Set in Chicago, it is the story of a girl who falls into Chicago's shelter system.

A portion of the proceeds from tonight’s book sales will go to Chicago Hopes, a volunteer-based, after-school homework help program for students living in Chicago homeless shelters.
