Registration for Library programs requires a current library card from Skokie Public Library or a registered card from your "home" library. After you enter your card number and your last name to "log in" to the online calendar, your full name, phone number, and email address will automatically appear in the sign-up form as it currently appears in your Library account. You will be able to verify the information without having to type it every time you sign up for a program. This will improve accuracy and speed the registration process. If you call to register for a program, please have your Library card number ready for a staff member to enter for you.

Description:
 Set in the early 1980s, Ellie, a 12-year-old immigrant from Israel, is lonely, homesick, and just learning to speak English. Things start to get better when she meets Thuy, a girl in her class, who is a Vietnamese refugee. The two become friends, teaching each other about life in America and slowly building trust. Eventually the girls become inseparable. However, their friendship is tested when they end up betraying and hurting one another. To make things right, Ellie decides to give up her most prized possession. This story is based on the filmmaker's own experience.
