Fun with Science: What Moves You, Newton?

Event Type: Class/Workshop
Age Group(s): Kids
Date: 7/15/2014
Start Time: 4:30 PM
End Time: 5:30 PM
Young scientists can explore the science of motion on a tabletop. Had we been born on a space ship far from Earth or any other celestial body, learning about motion would have been as easy as ABC. Gravity and friction can lead to misconceptions about the nature of motion and forces. Using miniature air pucks, blocks, balls, and springs, we will explore motion in a series of hands-on experiments. The class will be taught by Arthur Schmidt, a professor from Department of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University. For children going into grades 2-5.
