Movie: Postcards from the Edge

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Petty Auditorium

Actress Suzanne Vale (Meryl Streep) struggles to put her life together while recovering from drug addiction. A new project forces her to adhere to a strict rehab regimen, including a clause to reside with a "responsible" adult--her mother Doris (Shirley McClaine), a legendary actress in her own right. Sleazy producers, a lifetime of codependency, and a sexist industry conspire to keep Suzanne down, but she stays alive and relevant. Also starring Dennis Quaid, Annette Bening, and Richard Dreyfuss. Directed by Mike Nichols, and based on Carrie Fisher's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name.

Released 1990 - 101 minutes - Rated R - Comedy
