Online registration for Library programs requires a current library card from Skokie Public Library or a registered card from your home suburban library. If you do not have a card or if you live in Chicago, call 847-673-7774 to sign up by phone.

After the registration deadline, available spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please call for space availability and registration.

Musical Crossroads: India and the West

Renowned sitarist Gaurav Mazumdar, a student of the legendary Ravi Shankar, joins Crossing Borders Music to present his original compositions for sitar, violin, cello, and tabla. The music the human life journey as understood in the Hindu worldview, from birth to the worldly affairs of adulthood to the renunciation of old age. The music merges traditional North Indian classical modes and rhythms with a Western style of counterpoint and innovative, modal harmonies.
